Spreading Christmas love the Junjou way~ <3<3<3
Merry Christmas folks! So the year is coming to an end and 2009 approaches. Wow, you really wonder where the year went. It flew past so quickly!!! So, this christmas marks my 5th year in the music industry. 5 years of celebrating christmas with people I don’t know, people from all around the world, people from all walks of life… 5 years of counting down in different places: pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants, on top of a hill (for this year!!!)… 5 years of singing christmas songs… One thing stays the same, my prodigal pianist Cal and very dear friend of 6 years. Hey girl, Merry Christmas =) 5 years of performing with you, 5 years of counting down with you, 5 years of xmases and new years with you. It’s been a loooooooong way since our very first stage performance together when we were 17. We better treasure this coming New Year’s Eve gig cos this may very well be our last for yeah? *hugs*
A performer never has holidays on HOLIDAYS. Holidays means WORK. This year was a little special than the last four. Reasons are, firstly, we have a new girl in the band Margie. Secondly, this time we play on top of a hill in an iconic restaurant. Thirdly, we have “snow” this year (I live in a tropical island with no seasons at all, so artificial snow can be quite exciting for us!). And most importantly, the speaker almost killed my pianist. Ha.
She’s alive. No worries. I knew it was a bad idea to play on top of a freaking hill, mountain whatever you call it. Winds in Decembers are wild and it was raining quite badly. The restaurant is kinda al fresco. It has a roof but it is open air; the restaurant overlooks the hill, the night scenery and the sea. So you can imagine it as a huge balcony but with a roof, in an open natural setting on a hill. So the staff had to draw out the plastic curtains at the sides to prevent the rain from coming in when it got too wild. The wind was too strong and the plastic curtains, which were really heavy were blown up, and BAM! It knocked down the speaker. Cal was standing NEXT TO IT and she attempted to save it. Not happening cos the goddamned speaker was too heavy and silly girl hurt her finger (woman, you’re a pianist! Your fingers are your rice bowl!!!!)
… And the speaker TUMBLED DOWN THE HILL into the DARK ABYSS…
AM NOT SHITTING YOU.
This is what I call Christmas, baby… something exciting comes this way. *grins* We managed to retrieve it after all. One of the staff went down with torchlight and all and dragged the speaker up. God bless his soul. The speaker needs a little drying and it’ll be fine. God bless the manufacturers. So it was a pretty exciting Christmas after all. =D And we had a silly countdown with Santa Claus riding in his sleigh up the cable car wires so it looks as if he was really flying up the hill from the sea. It took him near 10mins to come up, I got bored already…
All right! A parting shot! A little present I got from a friend which I think is absolutely adorable. I couldn’t bear to eat it but did anyway this morning since it’s christmas. Ha.
A Snowman Muffin!!!
